Privacy policy
What Spendable is
Spendable helps people understand what they may be able to safely spend by analysing account, transaction, income, bill, and commitment information. The service is designed to make upcoming obligations clearer so users can make more informed spending decisions.
Information we may collect
We may collect information you provide directly, such as your name, email address, support requests, and early access signup details. If you create an account or connect financial accounts, we may also collect account, balance, transaction, income, bill, subscription, and recurring commitment information.
Bank connection and transaction data
If you choose to connect a bank or financial account, Spendable may receive data from that connection through a third-party provider. This may include account names, balances, transaction history, merchants, dates, amounts, income patterns, and recurring payments.
Spendable uses this information to estimate what money is available, what may already be spoken for, and what future commitments may affect today's spending decisions.
How data is used
We use information to provide and improve Spendable, generate forecasts and planning insights, identify recurring commitments, respond to support requests, communicate product updates, protect the service, and understand how the website is used.
Spendable does not sell personal financial data and does not share your transaction data with marketers or advertisers.
Third-party services and integrations
Spendable may use third-party services for bank connectivity, hosting, analytics, email, authentication, payments, error monitoring, and support. These services may process information on Spendable's behalf according to their own terms and privacy practices.
Cookies and analytics
The marketing website may use cookies, analytics, and similar technologies to understand site performance, measure traffic, and improve content. You can usually control cookies through your browser settings.
Data security
We take reasonable steps to protect information from unauthorised access, loss, misuse, or disclosure. Data is protected in transit using encryption and at rest where it is stored. Bank connection data is accessed through third-party providers that maintain their own security standards, and Spendable does not store your bank login credentials.
No online service can guarantee absolute security, so users should also take care with account credentials and connected services.
Your rights
You may request access, correction, export, or deletion of your personal information where applicable law allows. If account deletion is available, Spendable may need to retain some information for legal, security, fraud prevention, or operational reasons.
If you are in New Zealand, the Privacy Act 2020 applies. You have the right to access and correct your personal information, and to complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner if you believe those rights have been breached.
Contacting us
To exercise any of these rights, or to ask a question about this policy, contact Spendable through the early access form or by replying to any email you receive from us. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.
Changes to this policy
Spendable may update this policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised last updated date. See also the terms of service.
